As a sequel to last week’s Season’s Greetings I’d like to reflect on my experience with the pursuit of materialising my vision for 2022 👁
To do this, I will discuss the items I had set out in my vision board for the new year. In true Aphsie-style I’ll keep it short & sweet – In 2022 I Will:
Commit To My Morning Exercise Routine
As a way to maintain my health (both physical and mental) I’ve included a very light jog and yoga as part of my morning routine 🧘🏾♀️
In my early 20s I had a gym membership and attended gym in the evenings (after school). I am a morning person, so I’ve decided to start my day with it and it seems to be working for me 🙌🏾
This year I kept this up on most mornings, with the exception of those emergency long hour work-days 🥴
Commit To My Blood Type Diet
It is of the utmost importance (to me) to stick to this diet, in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Having said that, I can definitely do much better with this, I’ve been a proper delinquent 😈
This is not me making up excuses – but in the early stages of my healing from the effects of the fatal car accident I had (as discussed in My Testimony) I wasn’t able to eat and now that I can I’ve carried the YOLO mentality, when it comes to my food choices 🍔
Unfortunately, this has meant that I haven’t been strict with the food I consume and the results slap me in my face every time I look into the mirror. My other problem is that I’ve fallen in love with the thicker me – please, this is an S.O.S 😭
Overcome Doubt & Fear
I’ve let these two stop me in my tracks all throughout my twenties and now that I’m prepping for my dirty-thirties (as discussed in Thirty, Flirty & Thriving) – I’m saying bye ✌🏾
I commemorated this change by stepping out of my comfort zone and going abseiling for my 29th birthday – I absolutely felt the fear of falling, but I did it anyways and it was glorious 🤩
I definitely believe that pictures speak louder than words and so I shared some from the day on my Personal IG 🧗🏾♀️
Complete The Necessary Daily Business Activities
This is actually what I spend most of my time doing and for the first time in about eight years I find myself running out of hours in a day to do EVERYTHING 😰
I’ve been running UP_PHELELE as a sole-trader since 2015 and since then I’ve been able to make it work with over-times and sleepless nights. Now it’s a different story, it may be that I’m growing older or much more work is coming in or the mixture of both – but I definitely need assistance 👯♀️
I must also mention that my skills and knowledge gained from school(s): National School of the Arts; Durban University of Technology – Fashion and the business mentorship programmes I’ve been a part of: The DFF Mentorship Programme; The Box Shop Mentorship Programme; and The Circular Economy Accelerator Programme – has served me tremendously with this – THANK YOU 🙏🏾
Commit To My Financial Education & Liberation
I’m realising as I grow deeper into adulthood the importance of Financial Education, just for survival’s sake and that of achieving Financial Freedom 🤑
I have joined the Sorelle Amore Finance movement on YouTube and receive her newsletters. Yes, this is just one step but it has opened my mind up so much to matters pertaining this subject 🤯
Ooops, I’ve done it again – I need to divide my reflection into two different blogposts 🤪
I didn’t realise I had so much to say about my 2022 pursuits and I hope to see you here again next Tuesday – remember to join our NEWSLETTER to receive instant notifications of our new blog posts 💌
Yours – but mine first,
Aphsie ♡
