What a Year It Has Been

From the unexpected plot-twist of the previous year, to the ACTUAL purge that happened midyear – 2021 has just proved Murphy’s law all over again 😩

"Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.”
Murphy’s First Law

I started this year like any other, on a clean slate and with renewed optimism. Hhayibo, I even compiled vision boards for both my personal and career/business ventures, which I’ve shared HERE 🧘🏾‍♀️

It continues to amaze me, that no matter how well you plan life is going to do what life does best – unfold. Even though I did my very best to remain flexible and hit back when the punches came – I can tell you now that I am SICK & TIRED 😤

The year started on a good note, with the hope of seeing an end to the seemingly unending Lockdown and in the words of RHOJ’s Madam Evodia: “What a joke my darli!” 👎🏾

Initially I believed the Lockdown was in the best interest of all South Africans, until I engaged different people about it and witnessed how dire it’s effects have been to their livelihoods and and and 💔

As if that wasn’t enough, uBab’ uMsholozi was arrested and this started many riots mostly in KZN and Gauteng. I can’t remember feeling so unsafe in my own country ever in my life. This time marked the end of my peaceful sleep, which was replaced with panic and dismay 😩

To add to that, what the disappointing treatment that all black citizens received from our white and Indian counterparts (look up) – not to mention president Cyril Ramaphosa’s response to all of this… 🚮

At the beginning of this year I also served as the Fashion Mentor for a project whose name I won’t mention, but what I can say is that it ended in tears because of corruption, inflated egos and greed 🤮

Disappointment hit me from all sides this year, work/business, personal, friendships (or whatever it was), family (you know who you are, SIES), and many more 💩

Hey guys, did you know Murphy has thirteen more laws? They’re quite interesting – check them out:

#2: Nothing is as easy as it looks.
#3: Everything takes longer than you think it will.
#4:  If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong.
#5:  If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway.
#6: If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which a procedure can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop.
#7: Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.
#8: If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
#9: Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.
#10: Mother nature is a bitch.
#11: It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
#12: Whenever you set out to do something, something else must be done first.
#13: Every solution breeds new problems.
#14: If anything can’t go wrong on its own, someone will make it go wrong.

But you know what? No matter how many curveballs are thrown your way – keep on keeping on 🔥

Life is an interesting, never-ending challenge – isn’t it? But because we know better now: we rest, recuperate and renew our minds – because if we make it to 2022 we HAVE to do better 🙌🏾

P.S.  Thanks for having a read & you’re MORE than welcome to share your thoughts on our comment section below – looking forward to hearing from you…
