New Beginnings

As I write this blogpost I am flying sky-high making my way to the beautiful Cape Town – could there be a better scene than this, to declare my life’s transition into a brand new chapter? 🀩

I was recently made aware of this concept that major life changes manifest every seven years in one’s life-timeline and it makes so much sense to me – think about it πŸ’

I took some time, looked at my own history to record my own time-line (as seen HERE). During this time I reflected, celebrated, counted my losses, grieved and am now re-establishing my vision to get ready for take off πŸš€

I had ALWAYS known exactly what I wanted to grow-up, so just like I do now –Β  adults often asked me: “What do you wanna be when you grow up?” My younger self LOVED this question and was ever ready to boldly responded with: “A singing & acting Fashion Designer!” 🎀 🎭 πŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸŽ¨

I am currently still on my journey to realising my dreams and have learned that allowing myself to remain flexible as I do so, is what adds that extra touch of magic πŸͺ„

I was 21 (multiple of 7) years old when I was introduced to blogging, after I survived a fatal car crash, when reading and writing was all I could physically do well. I titled my first blog Inside Aphsie and I used it as my platform to give my readers an insight into my heart and headspace ❀️‍πŸ”₯

After successfully completing my junior diploma in Fashion Design, I registered UP_PHELELE as a company (with the unfailing guidance & help of my father – Dadaba β™‘) and was in business since then πŸ€‘

At this point I was under the impression that I wanted to become a university lecturer as I built the UP_PHELELE brand, so I pursued my B-Tech Degree at the University of Johannesburg and served as their first-year tutor for their Fashion Design program. I successfully completed that, but experienced an undeniable urge to return to the sunny Durban and secure my foundation there – so I did πŸŽ“

So, now I was pursuing a Masters In Applied Arts (MAA) degree at the Durban University of Technology’s Graphic Design department, I was also trading as a fashion entrepreneur and blogger. This is also when I realised there are more female writers in my social circle who could benefit from a shared blogging space – so I transitioned Inside Aphsie into the insideWomen Blog πŸ’—

It was during my second year of my pursuit of the MAA degree that I realised it wasn’t what I truly wanted. I felt a strong urge to de-register and go into full-time entrepreneurship and it has been exactly like going back to school πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

At the age of 28 (+7 years), I discovered a mis-alignment of visions we had for the insideWomen Blog as the resident bloggers, so I made the executive decision to transition it back into a personal blog with a brand new name: The Book Of Aphsie✨

Of course there are a whole lot of missing details about my progress so far and I probably couldn’t fit them all into one blog post – which highlights the need for this here blog. Thank you for journeying through life alongside me, and I hope your presence will serve you as much as it does me πŸ–€

P.S. Β Thanks for having a read & you’re MORE than welcome to share your thoughts on our comment section below – looking forward to hearing from you…

Yours – but mine first,
