September marks my mother’s birth month, and as long as I live, I will always celebrate her life. She was everything I needed at every moment I needed it. She is the love of my heart, and I praise God daily for blessing me with her love and friendship.
As I’ve shared in My Testimony, my mother and I were involved in a tragic car accident from which she, unfortunately, did not survive. On that day, I lost not only my mother but my biggest friend, my cheerleader, my teacher, my role model, and my prayer warrior.
Though she may no longer be physically here, her presence remains strong in my life. I carry her in my heart, my mind, and in all the beautiful memories we shared. Her influence continues to guide me, and the love she gave me will forever be a source of strength.
Below is a poem I’ve written, inspired by my Mama, diMamzo – Ruby Phuti Chonco ♥︎
MAMA
The embodiment of strength in its truest form,
A radiant display of beauty in all its glory.
You exuded kindness – so sweet, so gentle…
My wellspring of joy, my courage rooted in yours.
You walked this earth with such grace,
Making life feel like a task I could conquer!
I couldn’t imagine a world without you,
Without the love that guided me at every turn.
Did you know you revealed the end from the start?
Do you remember singing to me?
Sweet melodies and heavenly messages.
You were my angel on earth,
My heaven here on earth,
My angel – now in heaven.
May her soul rest in perfect peace, and may every life she touched continue to reflect her light and love in their own unique way – amen!
Yours – but mine first,
Beautiful
